We created this gorgeous monthly budget planner specifically to help you make a budget that you can stick to.
And we are going to show you how to use it!
First things first.
Enter in your income. Make sure to label the income source and add the amount that should be hitting your bank account. Add up the total and enter it into the total box.

**IMPORTANT** Make sure to only include the money that actually enters your bank account. Don’t count money that is pre-tax or unreliable.
Next, write down all those bills.
Enter in your bills and fixed expenses.
These are the things you pay for every month and the amount is about the same. Rent, Utilities, Insurance, etc.
Enter the bill name and the amount. Then add the amount for the total at the bottom of the section.

Then we have the variable expenses section.
This is your monthly spending where the amount is not the same every month.
Think groceries, gas, and miscellaneous. Enter the expense and the amount you spend on each expense in this section.
Then total up all those expenses and put that number in the total box.

You should also plan to be saving money.
Whether that is for big goals, or smaller sinking funds, those savings goals need to be accounted for.
Add your saving goal and how much you want to save into the Savings section.
Add up your total savings goals and put that number in the total box.

Are you working on paying off debt?
Put in the debt(s) you are paying off and how much you can throw at them this month.
Don’t forget to total up the amount you are sending to debt.

Once all those pieces are filled in, take your Income Total and subtract the totals from the other 4 sections.
If you are at zero (or very close to it) then you have created a great budget! You want all of your dollars coming in to have a job, without going over.
If you are getting a negative number, it is time to evaluate your spending and/or see about bringing in some more income.
If you are left with a big positive number (more than a few dollars) then throw more money at the debt or into savings!
Or give yourself more wiggle room to have some fun this month.
