Who is Lauren Golden?
Lauren is the creator of the Free Mama Movement, but she didn’t start out being an entrepreneur.
As a newlywed, Lauren settled into a job with a decent salary, but she didn’t love it. She used to glamorize the idea of being busy, and so lived her life being BUSY–working her corporate job, doing some side hustles, working in the community, etc. She was busy, learning a lot of skills and meeting people, but she was stressed out.
Then she became a mom, her husband quit his job and bought a business, and she became the primary breadwinner (along with mom, household manager and everything else). And then they had their second child.
At this point she was exhausted. She was fed up with the daily daycare routine, working hard at a job she didn’t feel fully valued at and just felt like she couldn’t do it anymore. That is when she took the skills she had learned from all her experiences “being busy” and started freelancing.
Shortly after she started freelancing she got pregnant again, and then suffered a devastating miscarriage. And in that moment, she was done with her overly busy life. She quit her job, went full force into freelancing and never looked back.
From her experience creating her own freelancing business from scratch, she has created the Free Mama Movement to help other moms who want to work from home, on their terms, to build successful freelancing businesses.
