Since we want to make sure that creating a budget is easy, let’s go over how to best use this budgeting sheet for you.
First things first–a good budget plan starts with a specific goal.
What do you want to accomplish with this budget/with your money this month?
Whatever it is, take a few seconds to write it down on the budget goal line.

And don’t forget to jot down the month that you are making this budget for.
Next you want to enter all the information you have about your income.
Include where your income comes from, when you expect to receive it, and how much you expect to receive.

Once you have done that, you can move on to entering in your bills for the month.
What are your fixed expenses?
What are the expenses and bills you pay every month?
Rent or housing expenses, utilities, insurance are all example of fixed expenses.

Write each bill into the bills section, and include how much you expect to pay for each bill in the “budget” column.
Then you need to repeat the process above for your variable expenses.
These are the things you spend money on each month, but the amount does not stay the same.
Things like groceries, gas for the car and personal spending all qualify.

Enter each expense, and the expected amount in the Expenses section.
The last section is for your savings goals.
What are you saving towards?
Give each saving goal a name, and an amount you plan to save for it.

Put this information into the Savings section.
You have now created a budget! See, that wasn’t too bad.
The very last thing to do is compare your income to your total spending.
So, in the recap section, add up all your income and put that in the income box.
Then add up the totals for bills expenses and savings and put that in the “A+B+C” box
Now subtract the A+B+C total from your income total.

If you are at $0, then you have no tweaks that need to be made.
If you have money leftover, or have over planned and have a negative balance, then you need to go back and figure out how best to make changes.
